Fee Schedule

Each year, the Institute offers instruction during two eighteen week semesters (Fall and Spring), and a summer session. Fees are based on the length of the lesson given. Effective spring 2009, beginners pay $612 per semester - this includes 17 individual lessons and 2-4 monthly group lessons. There is an annual registration fee of $30 for a single child and $50 for more than one child. This fee applies to instrument lessons (not the Sing & Play class). Tuition is subject to change.

The Institute offers several tuition payment plans. During Fall and Spring semesters, parents can pay tuition by making 1, 2, or 4 payments. Tuition payments are collected by instructors at the first lesson of the month according to the following schedule:

Make-Up Policy

  • Only those lessons cancelled with at least 24 hours notice can be made up.

  • Lessons missed because of visits to relatives, birthday parties, or because they were simply forgotten cannot be made up.

  • Extended illness, prolonged travel, and other extenuating circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • If the lessons are cancelled by the teacher, that teacher is responsible for scheduling appropriate make-up lessons. Please note, however, the following exceptions: (1) Each teacher is allowed one snow day per year, and (2) Each teacher may take one day for illness or for professional development per year.

  • Make-up lessons may be given in a master class format at the end of the semester if the teacher feels it would be beneficial to the student.

  • Your teacher is not required to give more than two make-up lessons per semester for lessons cancelled by the student.
